Lions Trumped At Mont Alto

MONT ALTO, Pennsylvania -- Despite a career-high 29 points from Toréy Green (Upper Darby, Pa./Upper Darby), the Penn State Brandywine men's basketball team was defeated 96-80 by Penn State Mont Alto on Saturday afternoon.

Green, who also grabbed a game-high seven steals, shot 13-of-20 from the field, including a pair of three-pointers, leading four Lions in double-figure scoring.

Amir Davis (Philadelphia, Pa./Walter Palmer Charter) tallied 14 points, while Chris Lyons (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) scored 12 and Marcus Turner (Claymont, Del./Chichester) added 11. Cyrie Spencer (Sharon Hill, Pa./Academy Park) contributed nine points and a team-best eight rebounds, along with three steals in a reserve role.

Mykel Barber scored 21 points off the bench to lead Mont Alto, which received 55 points from its bench overall.

The Lions forced 26 Mont Alto turnovers, while committing just 15, but allowed Mont Alto to shoot 51 percent from the field. Brandywine connected on 34 percent of its field goals and was outrebounded 57-27.

Brandywine (0-6, 0-3) hosts Central Penn Tuesday night at 8:00 pm.
