Brandywine Downed By Eastern

MEDIA, Pennsylvania -- Eastern University used an offensive showcase, shooting 56 percent from the field, to down the Penn State Brandywine men's basketball team 115-55 on Wednesday night at the Brandywine Athletic Center.

Eastern featured six players in double figures, led by a game-high 20 points from Maxx Sweet, and drained 13 three-pointers.

Brandywine was paced by James Fisher's (Philadelphia, Pa./Upper Darby) 19 points, while Cyrie Spencer (Sharon Hill, Pa./Academy Park) added nine points and a game-best 13 rebounds.

The Eagles ran out to a 26-7 lead after seven minutes and pushed their edge to 28 at the 5:29 mark following back-to-back buckets by Anthony Parenti.

Fisher scored nine-straight points for the Lions to close the gap, but Samuel Vaughan's pair of free throws with 20 seconds left pushed the lead back to 30 after 20 minutes.

Fisher opened the second half with a triple; however, Austin James answered with a three-pointer for Eastern and the Eagles would lead by at least 30 points the rest of the way.

Bradley Ulmer (Newark, Del./St. George's Tech) tallied four points and nine boards, while Marcus Turner (Claymont, Del./Chichester) added 10 points. The Lions were limited to 27 percent shooting and connected on just 14-of-27 free throws.

Brandywine (0-10, 0-3) looks to bounce back Saturday when it visits Penn State DuBois at 3:00 pm.
