Schuylkill Sinks Brandywine With Buzzer Beater

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, Pennsylvania -- Beneiko Harris buried a jumper as time expired to lift Penn State Schuylkill to a 75-74 victory over Penn State Brandywine in PSUAC men's basketball action on Tuesday night.

Harris scored the final seven points for Schuylkill, which completed a rally from 19 points down.

The Lions were defeated despite shooting 52 percent from the field and limiting Schuylkill to 40 percent shooting.

Cyrie Spencer (Sharon Hill, Pa./Academy Park) produced a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds for Brandywine, while Marcus Turner (Upper Darby, Pa./Upper Darby) also netted 17 points.

James Fisher (Philadelphia, Pa./Upper Darby) added 10 points and dished out six assists and Amir Davis (Philadelphia, Pa./Walter Palmer Charter) scored 11 points.

Brandywine used a 12-4 run to end the first half to establish a 36-22 lead after 20 minutes.

Turner and Spencer drained back-to-back jumpers and two minutes later, Turner canned a three-pointer to push Brandywine's lead to 19 at the 16:54 mark.

Schuylkill steadily crept back into the game as Harris scored four-straight points to slice the deficit to seven with eight minutes to play.

Chris Lyons (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) sank a basket with just over four minutes left to push Brandywine's lead back to 12, but Brandywine could only muster two points during the remainder of the game.

Harris buried a jumper with 1:25 to play, then canned a triple with 20 seconds left that brought Schuylkill within one, before connecting on the game-winning shot as time expired.

Harris led all scorers with 29 points on 12-of-25 shooting and grabbed seven rebounds.

Brandywine closes out the regular season Sunday at Penn State York (1:00 pm).
