Brandywine Golf Finishes Season Seventh In PSUAC, 17th Nationally

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine men's golf team closed out the 2018 fall season on Tuesday afternoon, playing the final round of the two-day United States Collegiate Athletic Association/Penn State University Athletic Conference championships at Penn State University. For the second-straight year, Brandywine finished the conference tournament seventh and was the 17th-ranked team nationally.

Brandywine produced a team total of 340 on Tuesday, giving the Lions a final score of 693 in the 20-team tournament. St. Mary of the Woods claimed the national championship as the Pomeroys completed the two rounds seven shots under par with a score of 569. Penn State DuBois (654 strokes) won the PSUAC title and fininshed 12th overall.

Austin Aurillo (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) topped the Lions individually for the second-straight day, carding an 80. He placed in a tie for 60th overall in the 113-player field after combining Monday's round of 83 for a two-day total of 163.

Connor Sadoff (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) coupled an opening day 85 with Tuesday's 87 to produce Brandywine's second-lowest score (172), while Brad Dawson (Pinecrest, N.C./Southern Pines) totaled 175 strokes (89-86).

Jacob Senza (Avondale, Pa./Salesianum) posted a two-day total of 180 (89-91), while Sean Illanovsky (Fanwood, N.J./Scotch Plains-Fanwood) registered 183 shots (92-91) and Nick Anderson (Phoenixville, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) rounded out the Lions with a 186 (103-83).

Sean Barron of SUNY ESF won the individual national championship, finishing the two days at seven-under-par, while Austin Green of Penn State Mont Alto outlasted Penn State Wilkes Barre's Jonathan Wilson in a sudden-death playoff to win the PSUAC title.
