Brandywine Competes In Final Championship Tune-Up At Clark Luis Invitational

SUGARLOAF, Pa. – The Penn State Brandywine golf team played its final round prior to next week's conference and national championships on Monday as the Lions placed fifth at the Clark Luis Invitational hosted by Penn State Hazleton.

Brandywine amassed a team score of 366, while Penn State Wilkes-Barre captured the team championship with a four-man score of 341.

Zak Karlton (Oxford, Pa./Oxford) was the low scorer for the Lions, while Marge Reynolds (West Chester, Pa./Westtown School) bested the women's field. Karlton totaled a round of 85 to place eighth overall and Reynolds posted an 18-hole count of 96.

Ty Coccia (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) finished in a tie for 10th place following his round of 89. Matt Cavanaugh (Upper Darby, Pa./Bonner-Prendie) carded a 93, while Alex Barone (Glenolden, Pa./Concord) finished with 99 strokes.

Payten Bussmann (Glen Eagle, Minn./Sauk Centre) shot 100, while Jared Morris (Scranton, Pa./West Scranton) recorded a 107 and Joe Danna (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) tallied a 134.

Brandywine begins the two-day, 36-hole PSUAC and USCAA Championships next Monday in State College.
