Lions Post Third-Straight Shutout Victory

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine did not allow a shot on goal as the Lions' men's soccer team won for the third-straight outing via shutout, topping Christendom College 5-0 on Friday afternoon.

Lions' goalkeeper Juan Guerrero (Kennett Square, Pa./Kennett) went untested in net to record his third clean sheet of the fall. Brandywine's defense yielded just one shot to the Crusaders, which sailed high and wide.

Brandywine, by comparison, put 14 of its 26 shots on goal, recording goals from five different scorers.

Tyler Skaer (Brookhaven, Pa./The Christian Academy) got the scoring started as Joey Cairy (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) headed him a pass in front and Skaer found the back of the net at the 21:33 mark. Dom Scrivano (Essington, Pa./Interboro)  doubled the Lions' lead, driving in a rebound after Gavin Birch's (Media, Pa./Strath Haven) initial shot was stopped.

Nathan Bowman (York, Pa./York Suburban) added a third goal before the halftime break off a feed from Ian Roland (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley), while goals by Birch and Cairy padded the Lions' lead during the final 45 minutes.

Brandywine (6-4-1, 3-0 PSUAC) visits Penn State Wilkes-Barre Saturday afternoon at 3:00 pm.
