Dzema Places 21st At Season-Opening Bryn Mawr Meet

MEDIA, Pa. -- Sophomore Christian Dzema (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) placed 21st as the Penn State Brandywine men's cross country team opened the 2021 season at the Bryn Mawr Invitational Thursday night.

Dzema recorded a time of 20:09.1 to claim 21st in the 32-man field at Rose Tree Park. His time was the top mark among non-NCAA Division III competitors.

Aidan Cantine of Swarthmore College won the 5K men's race with a time of 17:34.3, while Haverford College's Katherine Hirsche (20:21.3) was the individual medalist during the women's 5K race.

Brandywine continues its season on Saturday, September 18 at the Penn State Mont Alto Invitational.
