Softball Class of 2027: Jackie Capers

MEDIA, Pa. -- Jackie Capers has signed with the Penn State Brandywine softball team and will begin her career with the Lions this fall.

A graduate of Commonwealth Charter Academy, Capers was a three-sport athlete at East Pennsboro High School, earning four varsity letters in softball and tennis and one in basketball. A three-time Mid-Penn Conference First Team All-Star, Capers was selected as the league's player of the year at the conclusion of her senior season. She also earned player of the year honors from the The Sentinel Newspaper in 2022 and was chosen as East Pennsboro's softball MVP in 2021 and 2022.

Also East Pennsboro's Most Outstanding Female Athlete in 2022-23, Capers led the softball team to three Mid Penn Capital Division championships and a runner-up showing in the district tournament. Additionally, Capers was selected as one of the top five softball players in the area by PennLive.com in 2021.

Outside of softball, Capers aided with the Special Olympics at East Pennsboro, serving as a student helper with the bocce ball team. She received the Fackler-Howard Sportsmanship Award in 2023.

Capers chose to attend Penn State Brandywine "because of the amazing opportunities and relationships here. I can get an amazing degree and play for a top-notch team!"
