Cassario Picks Up Two Weekly Awards

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine senior Crystal Cassario (Levittown, Pa./Pennsbury) picked up a pair of Pitcher of the Week awards on Tuesday as she earned the honor from the Penn State University Athletic Conference and the United States Collegiate Athletic Association.

Cassario spun her second-straight, complete-game shutout, blanking Penn State Schuylkill for five innings in a 14-0 victory last Friday. She limited Schuylkill to just two hits, while striking out seven batters.

Cassario has won six-straight starts and ranks third in the PSUAC with eight victories this spring. She is also fourth with 70.1 innings pitched and 55 strikeouts. In addition, she owns 13 hits, 13 runs scored and 18 RBI at the plate.

A two-time all-American, Cassario reached 200 career strikeouts earlier this spring. She owns a 37-11 career record in three seasons, while hitting .384 with 93 hits and 68 RBI at the plate.

Brandywine (22-6, 13-1) visits Cabrini Tuesday at 3:00 PM.
