Barrouk, Floyd, Rivas Honored With USCAA National Academic Recognition

MEDIA, Pa. -- Three Penn State Brandywine student-athletes were named to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Winter National Academic Team as Bryce Barrouk (Glen Mills, Pa./Rustin) was selected from the men's basketball team, while Amanda Floyd (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) and Cheyenne Rivas (Thorndale, Pa./Collegium Charter) represented the Lions' women's basketball award winners.

The USCAA All-Academic Team is awarded to student-athletes who have accumulated a minimum GPA of 3.50 entering the spring semester and reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at their institution.

Barrouk owns a 3.61 grade-point average as a business major. He earned USCAA National Academic Team accolades for the first time after receiving three PSUAC All-Academic Team honors.

On the court, Barrouk was named second team all-American and First Team All-PSUAC after leading the Lions by averaging 17.5 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. He scored the 1,000th point of his career in January and ranks third all-time in scoring at Brandywine with 1,239 points.

Floyd earned her second USCAA National Academic Team award of the year and fourth of her career as she also claimed honors during the fall as a member of the Brandywine volleyball team. She has amassed a 3.75 GPA as a human development and family studies major.

Earlier this month, Floyd earned USCAA All-America honorable mention laurels. She was a First Team All-PSUAC selection, the second all-conference honor of her career, in 2021-22 as she paced the team with 16.0 points, 2.6 assists and 2.6 steals per outing.

Rivas rejoined the team in January and competed in the final 17 games of the year for the Lions. She averaged 6.2 points and 1.7 assists per game, while scoring in double figures three times.

A communications major, Rivas owns a 3.51 GPA and was a PSUAC All-Academic Team honoree as a freshman in 2020-21.
