Brandywine Eases To Win In Final Home Game

MEDIA, Pa. – The Penn State Brandywine women's basketball team rolled to a 93-40 victory over Penn State Wilkes-Barre during the Lions' final regular-season home game on Tuesday night.
 
Playing the final game on her home floor, fifth-year senior Amanda Floyd (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) recorded her sixth career 30-point outing, pouring in 31 points. Floyd knocked down five three-pointers and grabbed 10 rebounds.
 
Athena Brombacher (Vacaville, Calif./Will C. Wood) finished one point off her career high with 19 points and matched a season-best with 15 rebounds, while adding five blocked shots, five assists and four steals. 
 
Sierra Diawara (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) canned four triples and added 14 points, while Anaiyah Allen (Lutz, Fla./Steinbrenner) and Kiara Koger (Philadelphia, Pa./Neumann-Goretti) both tallied 11 points. Koger also handed out seven assists and grabbed five steals.
 
Brandywine forced 27 turnovers and limited Wilkes-Barre to 21 percent shooting. The Lions shot over 43 percent from the floor and connected on 10-of-30 three-point tries.
 
Brombacher carried the scoring load during the opening period, scoring the game's first six points and 11 overall in the first quarter as Brandywine opened up a 29-11 lead.
 
The Lions continued to pour it on in the second, outscoring the visitors 19-2 during the first eight minutes. Floyd drilled a trio of three-pointers during the final 65 seconds to give Brandywine a 57-17 advantage entering halftime.
 
Brandywine's biggest lead of the night came early in the fourth quarter as a Floyd triple made the count 83-28.
 
Brandywine (14-10, 12-6 PSUAC) closes out the regular season Friday at Penn State York at 6:00 PM.
