Amanda Floyd Named Second Team All-American

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine women's basketball senior Amanda Floyd (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) was named Second Team All-American by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association for the second-straight year on Monday.

Floyd is now a three-time all-American after garnering honorable mention accolades following the 2021-22 season.

Floyd, who also claimed her third consecutive First Team All-Penn State University Athletic Conference award last week, ranked 13th nationally in scoring, averaging 17.3 points per game in 26 outings this winter. She served as the USCAA leader in free throw percentage at 87.3 percent and shot nearly 40 percent from the field. Floyd's 50 three-pointers were the 16th-highest total in the USCAA.

Also ranked among the USCAA leaders in rebounding and steals, Floyd produced 8.3 boards, good for second on the team, and a team-leading 2.5 thefts per game. She notched eight double-doubles and had at least five steals in four games, including 10 swipes against Penn State DuBois in December.

The second-leading scorer in program history, Floyd amassed 1,753 points during her 110-game career.

In addition to earning all-American status, Floyd was also named to the USCAA National Academic Team for the third-straight year. The USCAA All-Academic Team is awarded to student-athletes who have accumulated a minimum GPA of 3.50 entering the spring semester and reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at their institution.

Floyd is on track to graduate this spring with a degree in human development and family studies. She owns a 3.79 grade-point average and is a nine-time Dean's List honoree.
