Brandywine Drops Final PSUAC Match At Schuylkill

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, Pa. – The Penn State Brandywine women's soccer team scored first, but Penn State Schuylkill answered with the next four goals and defeated Brandywine 4-1 during the Lions' final conference matchup of the regular season on Wednesday.

Gia Cetroni (Coatesville, Pa./Downingtown West) scored off a feed from Jolyn Walleekendeh (Trainer, Pa./Chichester) and Olivia Esposito (Boothwyn, Pa./Chichester) at the 12:54 mark of the first half to give Brandywine a 1-0 lead.

However, Schuylkill answered with the game-tying goal five minutes later and tacked on two more goals during the first half to build a 3-1 halftime lead.

The hosts added five more goals during the second half, while Jess James (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) added a goal for the Lions to cap the scoring.

Kiiani Banks (Elizabeth, N.J./Elizabeth) stopped 12 shots in goal for Brandywine, while Kaely Walshaw made seven saves for Schuylkill.

Brandywine (4-6, 3-5 PSUAC) concludes the regular season Saturday at Bryn Athyn at 12:00 pm.
