Swenson Lands Weekly Awards From PSUAC And USCAA

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine senior Madison Swenson (Chadds Ford, Pa./Kennett) was selected as the United States Collegiate Athletic Association and Penn State University Athletic Conference Setter of the Week on Tuesday.

Swenson led Brandywine to a 2-1 week against PSUAC opponents by averaging 8.56 assists and 3.56 digs per set. Overall, she totaled 77 assists and 32 digs.

Against Penn State York on Saturday, Swenson set career highs with 39 assists and 18 digs during the five-set match. Earlier in the week, Swenson produced 19 assists and 10 digs in a win at Penn State Schuylkill and 19 assists during a victory over Penn State Lehigh Valley.

Through five matches this fall, Swenson leads all PSUAC East Division setters in assists per set (6.81) and ranks second in total helpers with 109. Her 42 digs are the third-highest total on the team and rank fifth among players from the East Division.

Brandywine (3-2, 2-1 PSUAC) visits Penn State Lehigh Valley for the teams' second meeting in five days on Wednesday at 7:00 pm.
