Swenson Earns USCAA All-American Honorable Mention

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine senior setter Madison Swenson (Chadds Ford, Pa./Kennett) was named United States Collegiate Athletic Association All-American honorable mention Thursday night during the Association's end-of-year awards banquet.

Swenson started all 20 matches for the Lions this fall, tallying 439 assists, good for fifth-most in the USCAA. Swenson, who averaged 6.46 assists per set, produced three matches of more than 30 assists, while also tallying a career-best 41 helpers against Penn State Schuylkill on Oct. 28.

In addition, Swenson ranked second on the team with 176 digs. She reached double figures in digs eight times with a career-high 22 coming against Penn State Mont Alto on Oct. 10. Swenson also tallied 15 aces, 10 kills and four blocks.

During her 49-match career, Swenson totaled 695 assists, 291 digs and 33 aces.

Brandywine finished the season with a record of 13-7 and reached the PSUAC postseason for the 17th-straight year.
