Alvarenga Earns Second PSUAC Player Of The Week Selection

MEDIA, Pa. -- For the second time this fall, Penn State Brandywine sophomore Suzie Alvarenga (Fullerton, Calif./Notre Dame Academy) was selected as the Penn State University Athletic Conference Player of the Week.

In five matches last week, Alvarenga totaled 103 digs, 14 assists and seven aces.

Alvarenga reached the 20-dig mark four times, including 23-dig performances against Penn State York and Penn State Greater Allegheny. She also posted four assists in each of those two matches, while recording at least one ace in every game.

Alvarenga is the conference's leader in digs (309) and digs per set (5.52) this fall. She has reached 20 digs in a match five times and twice exceeded the 30-dig mark. Alvarenga also owns 38 assists and 19 aces.

Brandywine (8-9, 6-3 PSUAC) hosts Cheyney for its final non-conference game of the year Wednesday night at 7:00 PM.
