Former All-American Bill Walleekendeh Returns To Brandywine As Head Men’s Soccer Coach

MEDIA, Pa. -- Three-time all-American Bill Walleekendeh is returning to his alma mater as he was named head men's soccer coach at Penn State Brandywine by Director of Athletics Bobbi Caprice on Thursday.

Walleekendeh, a two-time Penn State University Athletic Conference Player of the Year and the team's all-time leading scorer, became Brandywine's first-ever First Team All-American following his 44-goal senior season in 2016. During his four-year career, Walleekendeh amassed 108 goals, 27 assists and 243 total points, while earning four all-conference selections.

After receiving his bachelor's degree in psychology from Penn State in 2016, Walleekendeh played professional soccer for two years in Sweden and Peru. He has also competed for the Harrisburg Heat of the Major Arena Soccer League and for Philadelphia Lone Star FC.

Upon returning to the United States, Walleekendeh began his coaching career at Chester High School, serving as head coach during the 2020 pandemic-altered season.

Walleekendeh moved on to Neumann University, where he served as assistant men's soccer coach from 2021-23. During his three seasons in Aston, Walleekendeh helped the Knights win 24 matches and claim the 2023 Atlantic East Conference championship.

Walleekendeh received his master's degree in school counseling from Capella University in 2022 and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree.
