Brandywine Secures Third-Straight PSUAC Chancellors’ Cup

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine can once again stake its claim as the top athletics program in the Penn State University Athletic Conference after capturing the league's Chancellors' Cup for the third consecutive year.

The PSUAC Chancellors' Cup is awarded to the athletic department that accumulates the highest point total based on championship finish and final standing in each of the league's 10 sponsored sports. Brandywine racked up 67.5 points, 12.5 greater than second-place Penn State Beaver.

Now a four-time Chancellors' Cup recipient since the conference began the award in 2008-09, Brandywine has finished in the top two in the standings in nine-straight years.

Each of Brandywine's 10 teams that compete in the PSUAC reached the postseason for the second consecutive year with three teams - men's soccer, women's soccer and softball - winning conference championships. Brandywine has claimed 13 PSUAC titles during its three-year run as Chancellors' Cup champion.

In addition to its three conference championship-winning teams, men's cross country finished as the runner-up at the conference championship, while women's basketball reached the PSUAC Tournament semifinals for the 14th-straight year and the volleyball squad made its eighth consecutive appearance in its tournament semifinals.

Last week, Brandywine's baseball team took third at the PSUAC Tournament in DuBois. The men's basketball squad made the postseason for the second year in a row, competing in the tournament quarterfinals, while the men's golf team, in its second year as a varsity program, finished seventh at the PSUAC Championship in October. 

Brandywine's six team sports posted a combined record of 70-25 against PSUAC foes, topped by the men's and women's soccer teams that both went undefeated against conference competition for the third-straight season. Men's soccer went on to win the department's first-ever USCAA National Championship, while the women's soccer squad finished as the USCAA Championship runner-up in November.
