Brandywine splits another double header for their second win of the season

Outstanding pitching by both Brandywine and Beaver pitchers resulted in a close first of two games against Penn State Beaver Sunday afternoon.  Brandywine tallied four runs on five hits, led by Gabe Encarnacion's two doubles and an RBI.  Joe Samohod received the win, allowing two earned runs that came in the top of the seventh, and five hits while striking out five batters.

Beaver's bats came alive, including eight runs in the fourth to close an 11-4 victory in the second game of the double header.  Beaver not only scored eleven hits on eleven runs, but also managed two home runs in the game in the third and fourth innings.  Brian Bosco received the loss, allowing six earned runs and both home runs on eight hits in three and one third innings.  Matthew Gallo pitched just two thirds of an inning, allowing two earned runs on two hits.  Brian Pennock pitched the final three innings of the game allowing just one hit on twelve batters.
