Brandywine fights hard but loses in bottom of 8th to Penn College

State College, PA -- Matthew Trotta pitched the entire game for Brandywine, allowing just two earned runs and one unearned on a fielding error.  It would seem that Trotta's effort was certainly adequate, seeing that Brandywine had scored a total of 25 runs in their last three regular season games.  Tom Osenbach led the team in hitting Thursday, with three hits on four at bats, while Jimmy Quinn led the team in run production, scoring two RBI's for the team's only scoring.

Brandywine tied the game in the seventh at two runs a piece but wasn't enough as Penn scored the winning 3-2 run the following inning in walk-off fashion.  Trotta pitched seven and two thirds innings, allowing eight hits on the two earned runs and striking out two.

Brandywine will enter the loser's bracket and face the losing opponent of the #1 vs. #4 seed game tomorrow.
