Brandywine fails to beat Penn College again to end their season’

State College, PA – When Brandywine and Penn met during the regular season they split their double header.  Brandywine faced Penn in the first round of the playoffs but Penn prevailed by a score of 3-2.  Brandywine looked to split their two postseason meetings to punch their ticket to the championship game.  Gabe Encarnacion hit a sacrifice fly to score Jim Murphy in the top of the first inning for a good start, but Penn fired right back, scoring two of their own in the bottom of the first.

Jim Murphy also batted in a run for Brandywine but it was not enough as two runs was all the team could manage.  Penn tacked on five runs for the day making it a 5-2 loss for Brandywine.  Carmen Scota received the loss as he pitched all six innings, allowing five earned runs on nine hits, while striking out five batters.  Brandywine ended their season reaching further than they did last year, yet with more progress to be made with their ultimate goal, to win the PSUAC Championship.
