Brandywine Takes Second At PSUAC Invitational

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- After winning the Penn State Schuylkill Invitational five days ago, the Penn State Brandywine men's golf team nearly repeated the feat before finishing as the runner-up at the second Penn State University Athletic Conference Invitational of the season on Monday at the University's Blue Course.

Brandywine completed the day four strokes behind the tournament champion, Penn State Wilkes Barre. The Lions posted a four-man output of 342 strokes, besting Penn State Mont Alto by one shot for second place. Brandywine, which finished seventh in a 10-team field at the season's first PSUAC Invitational three weeks ago, produced the team's second-lowest round of the season.

Austin Aurillo (West Chester, Pa./West Chester Rustin) topped the team by shooting a round of 84 in damp, cool conditions on Monday. Just behind Aurillo was Brad Dawson (Southern Pines, N.C./Pinecrest), who shot 85.

Nick Anderson (Phoenixville, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) carded an 86, while Sean Illanovsky (Fanwood, N.J./Scotch Plains-Fanwood) completed his round in 87 strokes. Jacob Sezna (Avondale, Pa./Salesianum) fired an 89 and Connor Sadoff (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) totaled 94 strokes.

Next Monday, Brandywine travels to Valley Country Club for the Penn State Hazleton Invitational beginning at 11:00 AM.
