Brandywine Competes At Greater Allegheny Invitational

MCKEESPORT, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine golf team competed at the Penn State Greater Allegheny Invitational on Saturday.

Zachary Karlton (Oxford, Pa./Oxford) was in second place at the turn after shooting an opening-nine 41, while Patrick Farrell (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley) carded a 46, Alex Barone (Glenolden, Pa./Concord) tallied a 47 and Colin Shane (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) totaled 48 at the Yougiogheny Country Club.

Individuals paired up for a two-man best ball tournament on the back nine holes. Karlton and Barone teamed to finish in second place with a score of 32, one shot off the pace of Penn State New Kensington's Mike Kohl and Collin McCune.

Farrell and Shane took fifth place as the duo combined to shoot 39. Shane was also the winner of the long drive challenge on the 564-yard 17th hole, while Kalrton claimed the closest to the pin challenge on the 135-yard 16th.

Brandywine has three regular-season invitationals remaining beginning with Monday's round at the Penn State Hazleton Invitational.
