Brandywine Finishes Fourth; Farrell Ties For Second At PSUAC Invitational

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine golf team placed fourth at the season-opening Penn State University Athletic Conference Invitational on Thursday. Highlighting the day for the Lions was sophomore Patrick Farrell's (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley) second-place individual finish.

Farrell carded a three-over-par 75 on Penn State University's White Course to match Wilkes-Barre's Cooper Kelley for second place. His score is the lowest by a Brandywine golfer since the team was reinstated prior to the 2017 season, besting Sean Illanovsky's round of 79 at the 2018 Schuylkill Invitational.

As a team, Brandywine totaled 342 strokes, one shot off the pace of third-place Mont Alto. York captured the team title with a four-man total of 313 shots.

Nearly as good as Farrell was classmate Zachary Karlton (Oxford, Pa./Oxford), who tied for fourth place in the 56-player field with a score of 77.

Alex Barone (Glenolden, Pa./Concord) carded an 18-hole score of 81, while Daniel Kile (Levittown, Pa./Prep Charter) rounded out the Lions with a round of 109.

Logan Snyder of York captured the individual medalist honors after shooting a five-under-par 67.

Brandywine is back in action Wednesday at the Penn State Mont Alto Invitational.
