Brandywine Concludes Regular Season With Fourth-Place Finish At Hazleton

HAZLETON, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine golf team wrapped up the regular season by finishing in fourth place at the Penn State Hazleton Invitational on Monday at Valley Country Club.

The Lions posted a four-player score of 377, while the hosts claimed the team title with a final count of 327.

Leading Brandywine was Alex Barone (Glenolden, Pa./Concord), who carded a round of 88 to tie for ninth. Patrick Farrell (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley) tallied 91 strokes to tie for 14th.

Payten Bussmann (Gray Eagle, Minn./Sauk Centre) tied for the low round among the women's competitors by shooting a 97. Margaret Reynolds (West Chester, Pa./Westtown School) posted an 18-hole score of 101.

Ian Massenheimer of Penn State Lehigh Valley was the individual medalist by shooting a low round of 73.

Brandywine now sets its sights on the PSUAC/USCAA Championships, which begin next Monday in State College.
