
Brandywine Places Sixth At United East Championship Preview
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – Penn State Brandywine finished sixth during the United East Conference Men's Golf Championship Preview at Chambersburg Country Club on Monday afternoon.
Brandywine totaled a four-man score of 354, placing sixth in the field of seven teams. Penn College won the team title by amassing a team score of 320.
Ty Coccia (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) led the way for the Lions, finishing in a four-way tie for ninth in the field of 37 golfers. Coccia's card included a pair of birdies, one on the par-four fourth and another on the par-four 18th, as he shot 82 on the day.
Matt Cavanaugh (Upper Darby, Pa./Bonner-Prendie) was one shot off of Coccia's pace as he was one of four players to shoot 83.
Brady Foytack (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) totaled 90 strokes, while Eric Angle (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) fired a round of 91. Joseph Koehler (Chadds Ford, Pa./Garnet Valley) rounded out the Lions with 121 strokes.
Penn College's Peyton Mussina was the individual medalist after carding a one-over-par round of 74.
Brandywine will travel to Turtle Creek Golf Club Thursday for the Ursinus Invitational beginning at 8:00 AM.
