Bio

Lauren Butts begins her second season as the pitching coach at Penn State Brandywine in 2024.

Butts made an immediate impact on the Lions' pitching staff as Brandywine posted the lowest team ERA in the USCAA at 2.64, one run lower than its closest competitor. Brandywine also topped all USCAA pitching staffs in shutouts and fewest walks per game. Individually, Crystal Cassario, April Lewandowski and Maddie DeFazio recorded the three lowest ERAs among all USCAA pitchers as Brandywine captured its first-ever USCAA National Championship and eighth-straight PSUAC crown.

Butts was a four-year pitcher at NCAA Division I Siena College from 2015. An all-conference standout, Butts won 39 games during her career and recorded more than 400 strikeouts, while twice leading the Saints pitching staff in ERA.

Prior to enrolling at Siena, Butts was a four-year starter at nearby Henderson High School.
