Tennis finishes the 2012 season at University Park.

The Brandywine Tennis Team finished their 2012 season losing by 2 points in the Team Tournament Competition up at University Park to Penn College.  Stephen James returned home winning Men's #1 singles and teamed up with Nick Desiderio to win the Men's #1 doubles.  Brandywine players who made it to the finals but fell a bit short in their efforts include Nick Desierio, Dan Winchock, and Bocki Sannoh at the men's # 2, 3, and 4 singles.  Winchock and Sannoh were also the runner's up in the men's doubles finals.

On the women's side Morgan Nalley fought hard but fell short in her bid to win the #2 women's singles title.  Likewise for Kristina Genzel and Heather Gartside who played for the women's doubles championship.

As he moves on to University Park to continue his studies next year, not enough can be said about the dedication to the team by it's captain, Stephen James, who never lost a  match in singles play his two years here as a player and won both the singles and doubles at the season ending team tournament.  His performance was beyond a job well done!

Overall the team lost one match this season on their way to win the PSUAC Tennis Conference Championship.  This was the last season for team tennis as the women's season will be held in the fall, starting in 2013 and the men in the spring, starting in 2014.  Tennis players interested in playing on one of these squads can contact coach Lloyd Vernon at ldv2@psu.edu for more information.
