Finley, Smith Run At USCAA National Championships

LEMONT FURNACE, Pa. – Penn State Brandywine's John Finley (West Chester, Pa./Regina Luminis Academy) and Jenaya Smith (Cohoes, N.Y./Cohoes) competed at the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Cross Country Championships on Sunday morning.

Smith topped her own personal-best time by nearly four minutes, finishing the women's 6K race in 28:41. Her time was 26th-fastest in the field of 53 women and ranked third among competitors from the Penn State University Athletic Conference.

Finley, who was also third among PSUAC runners during the 8K men's race, turned in a time of 33:25. He crossed the finish line 38th place among the 82 men's runners.

SUNY ESF swept the team and individual championships. The Mighty Oaks' Savannah Kurh ran to a time of 23:44 to claim the women's title, while Sean Dristle was the men's medalist in 27:26.
