Lions Fall At Ursinus

COLLEGEVILLE, Pennsylvania -- Penn State Brandywine was defeated 11-4 at Ursinus College in non-conference baseball action on Monday afternoon.

The Bears scored four times during the first three innings to build a 4-0 lead, but Brandywine battled back, scoring a trio of runs in the fifth.

Evan Cline (Swarthmore, Pa./Strath Haven) delivered a bases-loaded single that scored Nick Horan (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) and Chris Keenan's (Chester, Pa./Strath Haven) two-out base hit plated Gabe Encarnacion (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) with the Lions' third run.

However, Ursinus answered with seven runs during its final three at-bats to pull away.

Cline drove in the Lions' final run of the day with an eight-inning double that scored Encarnacion.

The Bears recorded 17 hits, including four off the bat of Vince Rondolone. Rondolone also scored three times, while Chris Jablonski knocked in three.

Cline and Keenan both tallied two hits and Encarnacion crossed home twice to lead the Brandywine offense.
