Alex Hood Named Interim Men’s Soccer Coach
MEDIA, Pa. -- Alex Hood will serve as interim head men's soccer coach during the 2025 season announced Director of Athletics Bobbi Caprice on Wednesday.
Hood was a five-year member of the Division I men's soccer team at St. Joseph's, appearing in more than 50 matches for the Hawks from 2019-23. During his time at St. Joseph's, Hood was a meber of the Student-Athlete Advisory Commitee and served on the executive board of the Adams Minority Student-Athlete Coalition. In addition, Hood was the president of Hawk-Minded, an organization run by student-athletes that worked to break the stigma surrounding mental health in sports.
Since 2016, Hood has worked as the director of Find the 90 LLC, coaching soccer players from the youth through professional levels. His coaching has included player-specific long-term development planning, individual and group trainings, youth camps and youth club consulting.
Also a coach at The Player Project, a local soccer organization, Hood has been working with youth soccer players and mentoring new coaches since March 2024.
Hood, who is in the process of completing his U.S. Soccer C License, currently resides in Philadelphia.
