Lions Extend Win Streak To Three After Sweep Of Williamson

MEDIA, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine men's tennis team has now won three consecutive matches after the Lions posted a 9-0 victory over Williamson College of the Trades on Tuesday afternoon.

Brandywine (3-1) made quick work of Williamson, winning all nine matches in straight sets.

Matt Canavati (Drexel Hill, Pa./Upper Darby) and Phuc Nguyen Ho (Upper Darby, Pa./Upper Darby) won their top-flight doubles match 8-4, while Victor Ficarra (Glenmoore, Pa./Downingtown STEM Academy) and Wenceslao Lara (North Brunswick, N.J./North Brunswick Twp.) teamed to win No. 2 doubles 8-2. James Cellucci (Rosemont, Pa./Radnor) and Stevie DiSipio (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) claimed No. 3 doubles by an 8-4 count.

In singles action, Canavati swept Chris Smith 6-2, 6-1 and Ho claimed both sets by scores of 6-4. Lara posted a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 3, while Ficarra posted a 6-2, 6-4 triumph in his fourth-flight match.

DiSipio produced identical 6-1 scores at No. 6, while T.J. Foldes (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) tallied a 6-4, 6-4 victory in his fifth-flight bout.

Brandywine is back at home on Wednesday when it hosts Neumann at 3:30 PM.
