Brandywine Knocks Off Williamson For First Victory

MEDIA, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine men's tennis team earned its first victory of the spring by defeating Williamson College of the Trades 6-3 on Tuesday afternoon.

Brandywine built a 3-0 lead following the doubles round after sweeping through a trio of matches.

The duo of Julian Pinder (Penns Grove, N.J./Penns Grove) and Luke DeAngelis (Downingtown, Pa./Henderson) cruised to an 8-0 triumph at No. 1 doubles, while Aggam Khurana (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) and Jackson Schultz (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville) teamed for an 8-2 victory at No. 2. The third-flight team of Yookang Nam and Michael McPhee (Phoenixville, Pa.) was an 8-6 winner.

The teams split six singles matches with Brandywine claiming wins in the top three flights.

DeAngelis breezed through a straight-set match at No. 2, winning 6-0, 6-0. Khurana earned a victory in his third-flight bout, 6-1, 6-0, while Pinder claimed a 6-2, 6-0 triumph in the top flight.

Brandywine is back on the road Sunday at DeSales beginning at 12:00 PM.
