Rohl Takes Eighth In Shot Put On Day One Of Danny Curran Invite

CHESTER, Pa. -- Freshman Max Rohl (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads) placed eighth in the shot put to highlight the opening day for the Penn State Brandywine track and field team at Widener's Danny Curran Invitational on Friday afternoon.

Rohl posted a long toss of 12.37 meters, the third-longest in team history. Only Braden Young (Smyrna, Del./Smyrna) has posted a longer throw than Rohl's mark (15.01m and 14.15m).

Rohl's toss put him in the final of the shot put where he finished eighth in a field of 29 competitors during his first collegiate competition.

Holy Family's Chibuike Odoemene produced the long heave of the day, tallying a mark of 15.94 meters.

Brandywine will be back for day two of the Danny Curran Invitational on Saturday morning beginning at 10:00 AM.
