Lewandowski Earns Second-Straight Pitcher Of The Week Award

MEDIA, Pa. -- For the second-straight week and fourth time during her career, Penn State Brandywine's April Lewandowski (Atco, N.J./Hammonton) was selected as the Penn State University Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday. She was also named Pitcher of the Week by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association for the second time.

Lewandowski went 2-0 in two complete-game performances last week and allowed just one earned run on four hits in 12.0 innings.

On Friday, Lewandowski struck out five in a 10-1 victory over Penn State New Kensington. One day later, she spun a one-hit shutout, her second shutout of the season, and fanned six during a 1-0 triumph over Penn State Beaver.

Lewandowski owns a 9-2 record in the circle this spring and is tied for the USCAA and PSUAC lead in wins. She is also third in ERA (1.61) and fourth in strikeouts (51) during 11 appearances.

Brandywine (20-6, 11-1 PSUAC) travels to Penn State Fayette Friday for a 2:00 PM doubleheader.
