Brandywine Competes At Delaware State Invitational

SMYRNA, Del. -- Penn State Brandywine's cross country teams competed at the Delaware State Sting Invitational on Friday afternoon as both teams ran to eighth-place finishes in a field of NCAA Division I and Division II competition.

Jenaya Smith (Cohoes, N.Y./Cohoes) paced the Lion women by placing 38th in the field of 61 runners. Smith completed the 5K run in 26:09.

Lianna DeDios (Elmwood Park, N.J./Elmwood Park Memorial) posted a mark of 36:47, while Madison Ollis (Coatesville, Pa./Avon Grove) crossed the finish line in 38:29 and Iyana Handy (Chester, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) ran to a time of 46:42.

John Finley (West Chester, Pa./Regina Luminis Academy) was the top finished on the men's side as he hit the finish line in 29th place with a time of 18:48.

Kevin O'Neill (Morton, Pa./Springfield) notched a time of 20:45, while Tewahido Agonafir (Philadelphia, Pa./Academy at Palumbo) recorded a time of 22:23. Gui Henn (Exton, Pa./Downingtown STEM Academy) and Alex Jennings (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) rounded out the Lions as Henn posted a time of 25:17 and Jennings crossed the line in 30:55.

Brandywine will host its annual home invitational on Saturday beginning at 10:00 AM.
