Brandywine Runs Winning Streak Reaches Six In Blowout

WEST CHESTER, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine men's soccer team won for the sixth consecutive game, downing Penn State Wilkes Barre 12-1 on Saturday night.

Bill Walleekendeh (Chester, Pa./Chester) added to his national scoring lead with five goals and two assists for a 12-point evening. Walleekendeh crossed the 200-point mark for his career and now sits at 208 points on 91 goals and 26 assists.

Brandywine featured six different goal scorers, including a two-goal performance from Brad Jule (Chadds Ford, Pa./Salesianum). Mike Usher (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) added to his team-leading assist total with four helpers and also tacked on his sixth goal of the season.

Jule got the  scoring started at the 15:26 mark before Walleekendeh scored three times and Usher added a tally for a 5-0 halftime lead.

Brandywine poured it on in the second half as Walleekendeh and Jule scored 19 seconds apart to make the score 7-0, while Brad Martino (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley), James Cellucci (Rosemont, Pa./Radnor) and Anthony Neufville (Wallingdale, Pa./Christ Academy) also got in the scoring column.

Brandywine outshot Wilkes Barre 40-4 and Joe Opdenaker (Lenni, Pa./The Christian Academy) stopped one shot to earn his seventh win.

The Lions (7-1, 4-0 PSUAC) host Penn State Schuylkill for Senior Day on Tuesday  at Maple Zone (4:00 pm).
