Lions Top PSUAC Competition At GA Invitational

WHITE OAK, Pennsylvania -- The Penn State Brandywine women's cross country team topped each of its PSUAC rivals, while all four runners for the Lions' men's team set personal bests at the Penn State Greater Allegheny Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore Robyn Gannon (Lansdowne, Pa./Archbishop Prendergast) paced the women's team, which finished fourth overall, well in front of its nearest PSUAC competition, Penn State Scranton. Gannon placed 17th in a time of 24:11, crossing the finish line 20 second ahead of Annie Mueller (Lincoln University, Pa./Homeschooled), who was 18th.

Jessica Powers (Morton, Pa./Ridley) was 25th in the 55-runner field with a time of 25:51. Freshman Amanda Eisenberger claimed 30th, while junior Kristen Hall (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley) was 33rd during the 5K race.

The Brandywine men were led by freshman John Li, who ran to a time of 30:10 during the men's 8K race. Sam Houlette (Chester Springs, Pa./Salesianum) finished 21st (32:37), while Kason Laventure (Lansdowne, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) claimed 23rd (32:55). Mario Miceli (Kennett Square, Pa./Unionville) completed the race 15 seconds after Laventure in 27th.

The Lions host their annual Brandywine Invitational on Saturday beginning at 1:00 pm.
