Brandywine Places Third At Home Invitational

MEDIA, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine men's cross country team placed third at the Lions' annual home invitational on Saturday afternoon.

Brandywine's five-man team compiled a total of 47 points. Penn State Fayette was the team champion with 29 points.

Leading the way for the Lions was Ben Johnson (Ardmore, Pa./Harriton), who placed fourth in the 19-man field. Johnson completed the 5K course in a time of 21:17.

Just behind Johnson in fifth place was John Bazaar (Cheshire, Conn./Hamden Hall Country Day). Bazaar turned in a time of 21:26.

Brandywine's third runner to cross the finish line was Alex Consadene (Andover, Conn./RHAM), with a time of 23:57. Isaac Canenguez (Worcester, Mass./University Park Campus School) turned in a time of 27:22, while Mohammed Iyoun (Broomall, Pa./Marple Newtown) completed the course in 32:11.

Mitchell Minda of Penn State Fayette was the individual medalist on the men's side (19:05) and Penn State Mont Alto's Macy Carper claimed medalist honors during the women's race (22:58).

Brandywine will compete at the Penn State Scranton Invitational next Saturday.
