Poissant, Stark Claim First PSUAC Volleyball Weekly Honors

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine senior Nikki Poissant (Aston, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) captured the Penn State University Athletic Conference Player of the Week award, while junior Sullivan Stark (Middletown, Del./William Penn) earned the conference's setter of the week honor on Tuesday.

Stark earned her fourth PSUAC Setter of the Week award in the last two years after surpassing the 1,000-assist mark for her career in a 3-0 victory over Culinary on Sunday. She totaled 49 assists during the tri-match against Culinary and St. Elizabeth, giving Stark 1,039 helpers in 45 matches.

Stark also tallied a season-best 32 assists and added seven digs during a 3-1 triumph over Delaware Valley on Friday.

Through six matches this fall, Stark leads the PSUAC in total assists (139), while ranking second in assists per set (139). She topped the league in both categories last fall en route to earning all-conference honorable mention laurels.

Poissant recorded 38 kills, including a season-high 18 against Delaware Valley, along with 11 aces and 35 digs last week to earn her fourth career player of the week award.

After topping the PSUAC in kills last year, Poissant is once again atop the league with 66 kills, nearly 30 more than her closest competitor. She also ranks second in service aces (17) and fourth in digs (54). For her career, Poissant owns 693 kills and 762 digs.

Brandywine (5-1) visits Penn State Mont Alto on Tuesday in its conference opener at 7:00 pm.
