Volleyball Hosting Annual Dig Pink Quad Matches Saturday And Sunday
MEDIA, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine volleyball team will be hosting its annual Dig Pink Weekend this Saturday and Sunday as the team has partnered with the Side-Out Foundation to raise money and awareness for breast cancer research for the seventh consecutive year.
This year, the team is asking fans to donate through "Digs for Dig Pink". You may choose a player and pledge a dollar amount to donate per dig recorded in a match of your choosing. There is also the option to donate a flat amount to the Side-Out Foundation. Each of the last three years, the team has accumulated over $1,000 in donations towards fighting breast cancer.

In addition, the team is asking you who you fight for. The volleyball team will be distributing flyers that supporters can fill out with the name of someone who has battled, or currently is battling breast cancer. The flyers will be posted around the gym this weekend. See a member of the volleyball team or athletic staff to fill out a flyer.
The Side-Out Foundation awards grants to medical research organizations and entities dedicated to providing patient services to breast cancer patients and their families. Your participation gives the volleyball community the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of all breast cancer patients.
Matches begin at 2:00 pm on Saturday with Brandywine hosting Penn State Greater Allegheny followed by a 4:00 pm match versus Penn State Beaver. Dig Pink Weekend continues Sunday at noon with Brandywine facing Penn State Fayette and concludes with a 2:00 pm match against Penn State New Kensington.
