Brandywine Clips Lehigh Valley 62-59

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Penn State Brandywine men's basketball team evened its conference record at 3-3 following a 62-59 victory over Penn State Lehigh Valley on Saturday night.

Leading 59-57 with 12 seconds to play, Johnta Dunson (Philadelphia, Pa./Freire Charter) knocked down a pair of free throws to give the Lions a two-possession lead. Following a Lehigh Valley basket, Colin Hockenbrock (Wilmington, Del./St. Elizabeth) added a free throw to make the count 62-59.

Lehigh Valley had the ball with 4.5 seconds on the clock, but Dunson came away with a steal to secure the victory for Brandywine.

Brandywine led 36-27 at the half and maintained a seven-point edge with five minutes to play before having to hang on for the victory.

Hockenbrock produced a team-high 17 points and blocked three shots. Dillon Jones (Wilmington, Del./Hodgson Vo-Tech) paired 11 points with a team-best 12 rebounds, while A.J. Dreger (Newtown Square, Pa./Bonner-Prendie) tallied 12 points. Dunson rounded out four double-figure scorers with 11 markers.

After a week off for finals, Brandywine (3-5, 3-3 PSUAC) returns home on Monday, December 18 when the Lions host Mississippi University for Women at 7:00 PM.
