Cetroni Lauded As USCAA And PSUAC Player Of The Week

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine's Gia Cetroni (Coatesville, Pa./Downingtown West) was named women's soccer offensive player of the week by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association and Penn State University Athletic Conference on Tuesday.

Cetroni scored the game-winning goal during the 85th minute, her second tally of the game, in a victory at Penn State Schuylkill that clinched the No. 2 seed for the Lions in the upcoming PSUAC Tournament. Overall, Cetroni registered two goals and two assists in Brandywine's 5-2 triumph at Schuylkill.

On Saturday at Bucks County, she added a goal, giving her an eight-point week.

Cetroni has started all 13 games for the Lions this fall and owns the team lead with 22 points and eight goals. She is tied with teammates Hope Priemon (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) and Leyla Vasquez (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) for the league lead in assists (6), while ranking second in goal scoring.

Brandywine hosts a PSUAC Tournament semifinal match Saturday at noon against an opponent still to be determined.
