Brandywine Rallies For 2-2 Draw With Division II Lincoln

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine scored twice during the final 10 minutes of regulation to rally from a two-goal deficit and earn a 2-2 draw with NCAA Division II Lincoln University in non-conference women's soccer action on Wednesday.

Lincoln got on the board first during the 41st minute and doubled its lead at the 79:09 mark; however, Brandywine countered with a goal just 63 seconds later.

Jess James' (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) initial shot was stopped by Lincoln keeper Lark Burgess, but James followed her own shot and tapped in the rebound to make the count 2-1.

Brandywine then found the equalizer with 2:10 to play in regulation. Gia Cetroni (Coatesville, Pa./Downingtown West) sent a long cross into the middle of the field and found Roberta Gonzalez (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East), who potted her first-career goal, knotting the score at 2-2.

Play was evenly matched through as Lincoln held a slight 17-16 edge in shots. James and Zoey Lineman (West Deptford, N.J./GCIT) each put a team-high four shots on target for the Lions.

In net, Demareste Dorvilma (Carteret, N.J./Carteret) stopped nine shots, including all seven shots she faced during the second half. Lincoln's Ariel Reyes stopped eight shots before being relieved by Burgess for the final 11 minutes.

Brandywine (0-0-1) wraps up its homestand on Tuesday with its first conference match of the season against Penn State Schuylkill at 2:00 PM.
