Hinton Named Second Team All-American By USCAA

NEWPORT NEWS, Virginia -- Penn State Brandywine junior guard Cashae Hinton (Norristown, Pa./Norristown) was selected as a United Small College Athletic Association All-American, earning second team laurels on Tuesday.

Hinton, also a second team all-PSUAC honoree, was one-of-five student-athletes from the conference to be named all-American. At least one Brandywine women's basketball player has earned all-America status during each of the last four seasons.

In 25 games this winter, Hinton led the PSUAC and ranks third nationally in steals per game (4.0), while also finishing first in the league and tied for second in the USCAA in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.0).

She averaged 9.3 points and 4.0 rebounds per game, both the fourth-highest marks on the team, helping Brandywine to a PSUAC regular-season championship and 18-8 overall record.

A two-time, all-PSUAC selection, Hinton will enter her final season at Brandywine needing 117 points to become the seventh 1,000-point scorer in Lady Lion history.
