Ramirez Earns Second Player Of The Week Selection

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine sophomore Anna Ramirez (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) earned United States Collegiate Athletic Association Volleyball Player of the Week for the second time this season on Tuesday.

Ramirez totaled 22 kills, 15 digs and four aces during a 2-0 week for Brandywine. Fourteen of those kills and 10 digs came in a sweep of Penn State Hazleton, which clinched the No. 2 seed in the PSUAC Tournament for Brandywine. She also tallied eight kills, five digs and four aces in a straight-set sweep of Penn State Wilkes-Barre earlier in the week.

In 21 matches this fall, Ramirez ranks seventh in the Penn State University Athletic Conference with 201 kills, the first 200-kill season by a Brandywine volleyball player since 2018. In addition to averaging 2.96 kills per set, Ramirez stands 10th in the league in digs with 207 and owns 32 service aces.

Brandywine (12-9, 9-3 PSUAC) hosts Penn State Hazleton in a PSUAC Tournament quarterfinal match on Wednesday at 7:00 PM.
