Lions Run Through Rain At DeSales

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine men finished 35th, while three Brandywine women competed as individuals at the DeSales Cross Country Invitational on Saturday morning.

The men compiled 966 points, placing in front of three NCAA Division III teams. Dickinson College claimed both the men's and women's team titles.

John Li (Upper Darby, Pa./Upper Darby) was the first Lion to cross the finish line of the men's 8K race, taking 142nd in a time of 30:04. Alex Troncelliti (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) finished 38 second after Li in 155th, while Henry Lee (Upper Darby, Pa./Upper Darby) was the third Lion to complete the race, taking 211th in 35:30.

Muhlenberg's Jaryd Flank topped the 251-runner men's field with a time of 25:34.

Anya Tyler (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) led a trio of Brandywine women, taking 98th in the 255-runner, 6K race. Her time of 25:20 bested her own school record by 35 seconds.

Brooke Theveny (Glen Mills, Pa./Garnet Valley) ran to a time of 37:32, while Meredith Simpson (Wenonah, N.J./Ursuline) rounded out the Lions with a time of 46:03.

Brandywine travels to New Jersey for the Inter-Regional Border Battle hosted by Rowan University next Saturday.
