MEDIA, Pennsylvania -- After building a 15-point halftime lead, Penn State Wilkes-Barre rolled to a 102-76 victory over the Penn State Brandywine men's basketball team in Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference action Sunday afternoon.

Hot-shooting Wilkes-Barre shot 63 percent (41-65) from the field and used its height advantage to score 60 points in the paint, handing Brandywine (0-5, 0-2) its fifth-consecutive loss. The Lions were limited to 31 percent shooting (31-74).

Brandywine led 15-8 following a three-pointer from James Fisher Jr. (Philadelphia, Pa./Upper Darby), but Wilkes-Barre held the Lions scoreless over the next 4:31 and built a 26-15 lead.

Chris Lyons (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) sank 1-of-2 free throws to cut the deficit to single digits at the 9:29 mark; however, Austin Walker responded with a triple on the other end, igniting an 11-4 spurt for Wilkes-Barre.

Wilkes-Barre led by as many as 19 points before a pair of free throws from Torey Green (Upper Darby, Pa./Upper Darby) made the score 57-42 at the half.

WB netted the first three points of the second half and, after a free throw by James Cottrell, led by 20 points for the duration of the game.

Cyrie Spencer (Sharon Hill, Pa./Academy Park) paced Brandywine with 14 points, while Marcus Turner (Claymont, Del./Chichester) and Green tallied 13 points. Fisher recorded 12 points and Amir Davis (Philadelphia, Pa./Walter Palmer Charter) poured in 11.

Spencer grabbed six rebounds, while Lyons, Davis and Turner grabbed four, but Wilkes-Barre held a 51-33 edge on the glass.

Denzel Mensah led four players from Wilkes-Barre in double-figure scoring with 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting. He added seven rebounds and four assists, while Nick Valenti amassed seven points, seven rebounds and seven blocks.

Brandywine is idle until December 6 when it visits Penn State Mont Alto for a 3:00 pm game.
