Brandywine Falls At Lehigh Valley

MEDIA, Pennsylvania – Penn State Lehigh Valley built a 19-point lead after 20 minutes and held off Penn State Brandywine for an 85-74 victory on Thursday night.

Lehigh Valley shot 60 percent from the field during the first half en route to a 49-30 edge at halftime.

The Lions trailed by as many as 28 points during the second half before a 14-2 pulled Brandywine within 13, but just under one minute remained in the game. Seth Kogon (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) knocked down a pair of three-pointers during the final minute to provide the final 11-point margin.

Kogon scored eight points, while Cyrie Spencer (Sharon Hill, Pa./Academy Park) led the Lions with 21 points and nine rebounds. Amir Davis (Philadelphia, Pa./Walter Palmer Charter) added 12 points and seven boards, while Kenneth Murphy (Philadelphia, Pa./George Washington Carver) tallied 10 points, six rebounds and three steals.

Joe Wiggins poured in 27 points to lead Lehigh Valley, which shot nearly 50 percent from the field.

Brandywine travels to Penn State Hazleton Saturday for a 3:00 pm game.
