Brandywine Track And Field Completes Second Virtual Meet

MEDIA, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine track and field teams completed their second Penn State University Athletic Conference virtual meet recently, highlighted by two first-place showings and a pair of second-place finishes.

For the second-straight virtual meet, Braden Young (Smyrna, Del./Smyrna) won the shot put with a long throw of 15.08 meters. John Bazaar (Cheshire, Conn./Hamden Hall Country Day) was also a winner, claiming medalist honors during the 1,500-meter run (4:51.2).

Collecting second-place showings were Angel Asomugha (Brookhaven, Pa./Sun Valley) and Hannah Mummert (West Chester, Pa./Rustin). Asomguha crossed the finish line in 3:15.9 during the 800-meter run, while Mummert posted a time of 31.3 seconds at 200 meters.

Isaac Canenguez (Worcester, Mass./University Park Campus School) was third in the long jump (5.29 meters), fourth in the 100-meter dash (12.6 seconds) and was one-of-five Brandywine competitors in the 5,000-meter run. Ben Johnson (Ardmore, Pa./Harriton) paced the Lions at 5,000 meters with a third-place finish (21:17), while Bazaar was fourth (21:26). Alex Consadene (Andover, Conn./RHAM) was the third Lion to cross the finish line (23:57), followed by Canenguez (27:22) and Mohammed Iyoun (Broomall, Pa./Marple Newtown) (32:11).
